Recap: Menlo-Atherton Bears vs. Burlingame Panthers
The Menlo-Atherton Bears fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They really took it to Burlingame for the full four quarters, racking up a 38-7 victory at home. That's another feather in the cap for Menlo-Atherton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Menlo-Atherton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Masuisui, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Alek Marshall, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Menlo-Atherton's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Burlingame, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Menlo-Atherton will square off against Los Gatos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Los Gatos is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Burlingame, they will head out on the road to face off against San Mateo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
