Softball Recap: Newton Falls Tigers vs. Harding Raiders
Newton Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to the Harding Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Newton Falls of the 13-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

On Harding's side, they let Breasia Butler and Azarriah Phillips loose on the outfield. Butler went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and a triple, while Phillips scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Vaughn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Newton Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Harding, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Newton Falls will take on McKinley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Harding, they will head out on the road to square off against Brookfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Harding is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
