Baseball Recap: Mohave Comes Up Short

Mohave extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-10. They came up short against the Poston Butte Broncos, falling 19-2. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Mohave saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Crandall, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run was Crandall's first of the season.

As for Poston Butte, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Poston Butte's side, they got a massive performance out of Brian Palma, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Danlad Kasim was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Mohave will take on Flagstaff at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Poston Butte, they will face off against Combs at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
