Basketball Recap: Peabody-Burns Falls Despite Big Games from Jameson Miles and Aiden Hurst

Peabody-Burns lost against Douglass back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Peabody-Burns Warriors took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Douglass Bulldogs. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peabody-Burns' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Hurst, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds, and Jameson Miles, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Those 26 points gave Hurst a new career-high. Cade Gossen also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Peabody-Burns smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Brody Rush continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Douglass, going 11 for 22 on his way to 26 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kemper Cox, who posted nine points.

Peabody-Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Douglass, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Peabody-Burns has already played their next match (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Douglass will welcome Kingman on Friday. Douglass is facing Kingman at the right time seeing as Kingman is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
