Basketball Recap: Orange Lutheran Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Timpanogos

Orange Lutheran picked up another tournament win on Friday. They strolled past the Timpanogos Timberwolves with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lancers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 136th in California, while the Timberwolves are ranked 15th in Utah).

Despite the loss, Timpanogos still got an impressive performance from Jaxen Mccuistion, who posted 17 points. Cooper Harris was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Orange Lutheran pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Timpanogos, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.

Orange Lutheran has already played their next matchup, a 62-55 victory against Liberty on the 4th. As for Timpanogos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-59 defeat against Cathedral Catholic on the 4th.
