Norton piles up the points against Stockton

Recap: Norton Bluejays vs. Stockton Tigers

The Norton Bluejays waltzed into their contest Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 49-12 blowout they got at home against Stockton. Norton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jenessa Ruder was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Norton's points. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Clydesdale, who scored ten points along with three steals.

Norton's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Stockton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norton will take on Oakley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stockton, they will be playing at home against Victoria on Tuesday. Victoria will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Stockton is ranked 104th).
