Philadelphia Catholic AAAA recap Oct. 3, 2012

Roman Catholic suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 37-7 loss to St. Joseph's Prep. The Cahillite had been ranked 20th, but fell to 29 following the defeat.

La Salle College extended the longest winning streak in Philadelphia Catholic AAAA this week by beating Archbishop Ryan, 31-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Explorers.

La Salle College's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Explorers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Kane has thrown for 482 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Sean Coleman has 12 catches for 248 yards. Jared Hermann leads the league in rushing with 115 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Raiders take on Roman Catholic. Archbishop Ryan is in third place, while Joe McCourt's team is in fourth place.

Father Judge and Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic played the most hotly contested game in Philadelphia Catholic AAAA this week, with Father Judge eventually emerging with a 25-24 victory.
