Baseball Recap: Woodville Comes Up Short

Woodville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-8 to the Brindlee Mountain Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Austin Lindbom was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Lindbom was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Riley White made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Connor Lancaster, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Woodville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Brindlee Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodville will venture away from home to square off against Athens Bible at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Woodville has given up an average of 16.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Brindlee Mountain, they are taking a road trip to take on Skyline at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
