Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Davies Career & Tech Patriots

The Mt. Hope Huskies will square off against the Davies Career & Tech Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Hope will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mt. Hope and Burrillville, and Mt. Hope kept the tradition alive. The Huskies blew past the Broncos 3-0 on Thursday.

Mt. Hope walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-22.

Rasheed Braddock was the offensive standout of the game as he had nine digs and three aces. Those nine digs gave him a new career-high. Jacob Betres also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Mt. Hope was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Davies Career & Tech earned a 3-1 win over Block Island on Friday. The contest marked the Patriots' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Davies Career & Tech had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-12, 25-23, 25-21.

Davies Career & Tech pushed their record up to 3-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mt. Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Mt. Hope took their win against Davies Career & Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
