Softball Recap: Ramona Victorious

Ramona won the last time they faced Escondido and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 10-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Braelyn Bolen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Serenity Garcia-Hayes, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Evie Brown, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Ramona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Escondido, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ramona will square off against rival Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Escondido is set to take on their familiar foe Fallbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
