Baseball Recap: Monroe Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Monroe had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Central Linn Cobras a 10-0 shutout. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cobras, too.

Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Central Linn, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monroe is set to face off against their familiar foe Santiam at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Central Linn will square off against rival East Linn Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
