Basketball Recap: Caston Beats Delphi Community for Their Third Straight Victory

Caston entered their tilt with Delphi Community on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 63-50 victory over the Delphi Community Oracles. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 62-51 win the Oracles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Caston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Mollenkopf, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Hook, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Delphi Community's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Walker Jones, who put up 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Xaine Tessier was another key player, putting up ten points.

Caston's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Delphi Community, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Caston has already played their next contest (against West Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Delphi Community will take on Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Delphi Community is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
