Volleyball Recap: Freeport Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Freeport and Pensacola Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Freeport had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Crusaders. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.

Emily Doi paced Freeport's offense, picking up seven kills. Doi got some help from Maddy Smith and her 15 assists.

With the defeat, Freeport broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-7. As for Pensacola Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Freeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pensacola Catholic, they will take on North Bay Haven Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
