Basketball Recap: Rio Rancho Drops Highest Score of Season Against Eldorado

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rio Rancho). They blew past the Eldorado Golden Eagles, posting an 89-59 victory. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Rio Rancho found their leader in sophomore Noah Lovato, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 21 points and five boards. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Lovato. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Decker, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Rio Rancho smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Rio Rancho has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Eldorado, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Rio Rancho didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 97-56 win against Hope Christian on the 8th. As for Eldorado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-72 defeat against West Mesa on the 8th.
