Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Tigers vs. Bangor Cardinals

Even though the Hillsboro Tigers have not done well against the Bangor Cardinals recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Hillsboro escaped with a win against the Cardinals by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51. The win was nothing new for Hillsboro as they're now sitting on four straight.

When it comes to explaining why Bangor lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chase Horstman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nolan Michek, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Hillsboro is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Bangor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Hillsboro will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
