Flag Football Game Preview: The Classical Academy Titans vs. Coronado Cougars

The Classical Academy Titans will square off against the Coronado Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Classical Academy will be strutting in after a win while Coronado will be coming in after a defeat.

The Classical Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Vista PEAK Prep, who was ranked 24th at the time (The Classical Academy was ranked sixth). The Titans were the clear victors by a 31-6 margin over the Bison on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won three contests by 25 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 39-6 loss at the hands of Air Academy.

The Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for The Classical Academy against Coronado when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 47-12 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Cougars' Tatiana Gonzalez, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards.
