Recap: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions
The Flowing Wells Caballeros won the last time they faced the Mountain View Mountain Lions, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Flowing Wells came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 45-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Flowing Wells.
Flowing Wells' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brianna Potter led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Kayla Bailey, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Mountain View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Holly McLemore. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Carter, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Flowing Wells is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Mountain View, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.
Flowing Wells will take on Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Pueblo is ranked 57th, while Flowing Wells is ranked 49th). As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to challenge Catalina Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
