Football Recap: Peoria Panthers vs. Cactus Cobras

Peoria lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They came up short against the Cactus Cobras, falling 35-14. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cobras recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Dominic Kramer threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Angel Vasquez was his top target, making five total tackles and defending a pass. On the ground, Cristian Carrillo rushed for 55 yards.

Tayejion Player had an outrageously good game for Cactus as he rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Casias, who threw for 180 yards and a touchdown.

Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cactus, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Peoria wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 36-14 win against Youngker on the 3rd. As for Cactus, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Verrado at 7:00 p.m. on October 17th. Cactus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.2 points per game this season.
