After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wheelersburg, Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 27-12 victory over the Minford Falcons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mohawks also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Jake Brown was his usual excellent self, rushing for 127 yards and one score, while also throwing for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ferguson, who rushed for 84 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Minford lost, don't look at Curt Glenn. Despite the final result, he threw for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 45 yards.

Northwest now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Minford, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Northwest will be playing at home against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Mohawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Minford, they are taking a road trip to take on Portsmouth West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
