Peabody took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Gibson County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Peabody Golden Tide narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Gibson County Pioneers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Tide have posted against the Pioneers since March 24, 2017.

The team relied heavily on Macie Rowan, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Gabby Shepherd was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Peabody's record now sits at 4-5. As for Gibson County, their record is now 1-4.

Coming up, Peabody will challenge Trinity Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Peabody is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Gibson County, they will face off against Jackson Christian at 5:00 p.m. on March 27th.
