Layla Townsend gave up the fewest walks she has since back in April of 2024 on Wednesday. Nobody could stop her as she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Townsend and Ironton are taking a road trip to challenge Blazer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Tigers will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 109 places lower in their respective states), but they're not letting that get them down.
