Volleyball Recap: Normandy Invaders vs. Steele Comets
Normandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Steele Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.
Normandy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25, 20-25, 25-21, 22-20.
Joe Penano went supernovafor Steele, getting nine digs and three aces. Penano is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 14 games he's played.
Normandy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Steele, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Normandy will square off against rival Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Steele is set to challenge their familiar foe Perrysburg at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
