Basketball Recap: Lumberton Pirates vs. Rolesville Rams
Lumberton and Rolesville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lumberton had to settle for second. They had to suffer through an 87-52 loss at the hands of the Rolesville Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since November 22, 2024.
It was another big night for Caitlyn Jones, who dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 13 assists, and 11 steals for Rolesville. Those 11 steals gave Jones a new career-high. Gabrielle Matthews was another key player, going 8-for-12 to rack up 19 points and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Lumberton and nudges their season record down to 18-11. As for Rolesville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.
