Basketball Recap: John Marshall Comes Up Short

John Marshall saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tyler Knights. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 712th, while the Knights are ranked 79th).

John Marshall has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Tyler, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

John Marshall will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bellaire at 7:15 p.m. Bellaire is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. Tyler has already played their next match (against Magnolia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
