Basketball Recap: Chapelgate Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Chapelgate Christian Academy played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Harrisonburg HomeSchool Lightning, falling 94-63. The Yellowjackets were down 66-41 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Chapelgate Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bryson Milledge, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 17 points and five assists. That's the most assists Milledge has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Plater, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Chapelgate Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Harrisonburg HomeSchool, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-10.

Chapelgate Christian Academy will challenge Indian Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Indian Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Chapelgate Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Harrisonburg HomeSchool has already played their next game (against Rise Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
