Softball Recap: Christ Presbyterian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Harpeth Hall

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christ Presbyterian Academy). They blew past the Harpeth Hall Honeybears 19-0 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Anna Groenewoud was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Groenewoud was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nealy McCluskey was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Rebecca Hughes was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

Christ Presbyterian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harpeth Hall only posted an OBP of .421.

The win (which was Christ Presbyterian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Harpeth Hall, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Christ Presbyterian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Summertown on the 26th. As for Harpeth Hall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-0 loss against Brentwood Academy on the 29th.
