Basketball Game Preview: Del Valle Conquistadores vs. Eastlake Falcons

The Del Valle Conquistadores will face off against the Eastlake Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Del Valle is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 74 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Eastwood on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Troopers 66-30. The Conquistadores' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Eastlake entered their tilt with Parkland on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Matadors by a score of 54-47. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Matadors are ranked 952nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastlake pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Del Valle, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Del Valle suffered a grim 60-40 defeat to Eastlake in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Del Valle, Orion Olivas (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
