It's playoff time, and Seaford had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the McKean Highlanders to the tune of 41-0 on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Bluejays, who have now won ten matchups in a row.
Brendan West was his usual excellent self, rushing for 187 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Vince Evans III, who rushed for 82 yards and one score on only six carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Seaford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 356 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKean only rushed for 22.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Seaford's defense and their five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece.
Seaford's record now sits at 11-1. As for McKean, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Seaford will face off against Newark Charter School at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bluejays 8.2, the Patriots 10.9) so any points scored will be well earned. McKean does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
