Basketball Recap: Neah Bay Falls Despite Big Games from Makyah Chambers and Tyler Swan

Neah Bay has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 64-52 to the DeSales Irish on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 56-51 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Neah Bay's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Swan and Makyah Chambers. Swan dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Chambers shot 50% from the field on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Swan's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Seactis Woodruff was another key player, putting up two points.

Neah Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for DeSales, their win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-2.

Looking ahead, Neah Bay will challenge Garfield-Palouse at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. DeSales does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
