Basketball Recap: Kashmere Comes Up Short

Kashmere lost against Washington back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Kashmere Fighting Rams took a 70-55 bruising from the Washington Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 940th, while the Eagles are ranked 217th).

Robert Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Washington, going 10 of 13 on his way to 25 points. Those 25 points gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Webb, who posted 13 points and five assists.

Kashmere is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for Washington, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Kashmere will face off against Furr at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 110-67 win against Waltrip on the 10th.
