Softball Recap: Paint Valley Comes Up Short

Paint Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 11-6 to the Adena Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 on April 11th.

Sophia Stauffer was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. H Crouch was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Paint Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Adena, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Paint Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Huntington at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Adena will face off against rival Piketon at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Redstreaks a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
