With a playoff win on the line, Riesel rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Whitewright Tigers by a score of 8-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won 17 matchups in a row.

Kyleigh Benton (UAM) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lauren Summers (UAM) was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Mollee Summers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Riesel's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Whitewright, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-8.

As of now, neither Riesel nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
