Basketball Recap: Mariner Comes Up Short

Mariner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 75-25 loss at the hands of the Coral Gables Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Tritons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 691st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 213th).

Mariner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Coral Gables, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Mariner and First Baptist Academy will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Coral Gables, they and Bishop Verot will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
