Basketball Recap: Midwest Central Takes a Loss

Midwest Central lost against Tremont back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Midwest Central Raiders were outmatched by the Tremont Turks and fell 78-49. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while the Turks are ranked 82nd).

Midwest Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Tremont, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Midwest Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Olympia at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Tremont also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Tremont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Ridgeview likes a good challenge.
