Baseball Recap: Grainger Find Success

Grainger never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Morristown-Hamblen East on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes with a sharp 10-3 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kade Lucas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lucas was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Wallace, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Connor May, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Grainger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morristown-Hamblen East only posted an OBP of .375.

Grainger's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.
