King Academy and Laurens Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Knights will take on the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. King Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
King Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jefferson Davis Academy 74-28. Considering the Knights have won nine games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
King Academy found their leader in sophomore Joseph Morse, who rushed for 216 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Morse really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Blake Rabar was another major influence, as he rushed for 55 yards and ran in a TD.
King Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 191 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

King Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Tucker McGinty led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times he's played. King Academy got some further help from Jacob Bussey: he made 17 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Laurens Academy faced Holly Hill Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crusaders managed a 30-24 win over the Raiders.
King Academy better focus on containing Caleb Hardy and Ethan Collins as the pair were huge in Laurens Academy's win. Hardy gained 245 total yards and two touchdowns, while Collins rushed for 67 yards and a pair of TDs.
King Academy's record now sits at 11-0. As for Laurens Academy, their record is now 9-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. King Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 222 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Laurens Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 264.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
King Academy took their victory against Laurens Academy in their previous meeting back in October by a conclusive 44-22 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
