Softball Game Preview: Bound Brook Crusaders vs. Gill St. Bernard's Knights

For the second straight game, Bound Brook will face off against Gill St. Bernard. The Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bound Brook is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Bound Brook didn't have quite enough to beat Gill St. Bernard's and fell 4-3.

Isabella Marusiak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Bound Brook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachael Gurczeski, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Marissa Hays also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Bound Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gill St. Bernard's, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1.
