Baseball Game Preview: Naperville Central Redhawks vs. Prospect Knights

The Naperville Central Redhawks will challenge the Prospect Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Prospect took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Naperville Central, who comes in off a win.

Naperville Central came out on top against DeKalb on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Redhawks walked away with a 7-3 win over the Barbs. The game was the first time the Redhawks have beaten the Barbs on their field since May 4, 2023.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Prospect's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conant.

Logan Nordentoft was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. John Aquino was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Naperville Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Prospect, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6-1.

Naperville Central took their win against Prospect when the teams last played back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
