Basketball Game Preview: Fitch Falcons vs. Harding Presidents

Fitch is 3-0 against Harding since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fitch Falcons will take on the Harding Presidents at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Fitch is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: St. Bernard, who was ranked second at the time (Fitch was ranked 16th). Fitch lost 77-51 to St. Bernard on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Falcons have let down their home crowd.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Calvin Sebastian, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakhi Sabb, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Harding came up short against Seymour on Tuesday and fell 74-63. The Presidents have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fitch's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for Harding, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Fitch was able to grind out a solid win over Harding in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 74-63. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Harding's Guillaume Mulenga Jr., who went 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Fitch to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
