Softball Recap: Central Cabarrus Has No Trouble Against Carson

Central Cabarrus won the last time they faced Carson and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Central Cabarrus Vikings' way against the Carson Cougars as the Central Cabarrus Vikings made off with a 14-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Cecilia Measmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Measmer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinley Hood, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Emma Salter was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Central Cabarrus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carson only posted an OBP of .407.

Central Cabarrus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Carson, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
