Basketball Recap: North Hollywood Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Eman Gore and Chase Guillory

North Hollywood and South East squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but North Hollywood had to settle for second. They fell 83-72 to the South East Jaguars.

Chase Guillory and Eman Gore certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Guillory went 7-for-8 on his way to 15 points and six boards, while Gore went 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points. What's more, Gore also posted a 55% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Gonzales, who posted five points and three steals.

North Hollywood dropped their record down to 9-19 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for South East, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

North Hollywood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South East, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Jaguars challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully South East likes a good challenge.
