Recap: Notre Dame Titans vs. Bloomington Bruins

This season hasn't been kind to The Notre Dame Titans, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomington. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Despite the loss, Notre Dame still got an impressive performance from Deon Jordan, who rushed for 270 yards on only 15 carries. Jordan was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Mark Cadena was another key contributor, throwing for 154 yards and three touchdowns.

Bloomington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diego Fraembs, who picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Cesar Villegas, who threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns.

Bloomington's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was George Amajoyi and his two sacks.

Notre Dame's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-3 Aquinas and 6-3 Linfield Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.7% over those games). As for Bloomington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will take on Colton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colton is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Bloomington, they will be playing at home against San Gorgonio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in San Gorgonio's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games.
