Baseball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Cowanesque Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.86 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to the Athens Wildcats. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

Cowanesque Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Stahli, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Cowanesque Valley's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-2. As for Athens, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowanesque Valley will head out to face off against Mansfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Athens, they will venture away from home to take on Selinsgrove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
