Fowler moved up to 579 from 678 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Sequoia. The Redcats were able to make the jump by beating Lindsay 27-3.
Fowler made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,788 from 9,151. The advance stemmed from a 27-3 victory over the Cardinals last week.
Steve Nelson's team's dynamic duo of James Silva and Mike Cerrillo proved tough for Lindsay to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Silva threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns and Cerrillo had 76 yards receiving. Hugo Martinez helped Fowler's passing attack out by catching three balls for 39 yards.
JC Chavez provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Parlier lost to Sierra. He completed 18 passes for 231 yards and also ran for 140 yards.
Zach Armas made the biggest impact on defense this week as Minarets fell to Farmersville. The 5-foot-10 senior forced three fumbles.
Parlier's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chavez has thrown for 681 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Rogelio Huerta has 15 catches for 233 yards. Chavez also leads the league in rushing with 444 yards.
