Basketball Game Preview: Ponce De Leon Pirates vs. Chipley Tigers

The Ponce De Leon Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Chipley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ponce De Leon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Ponce De Leon ended up a good deal behind Baker and lost 52-35.

Meanwhile, Chipley won against Cottondale last Tuesday with 69 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Chipley snuck past Bozeman with a 69-64 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Chipley has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Ponce De Leon, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Ponce De Leon came up short against Chipley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 47-35. Can Ponce De Leon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
