Basketball Game Preview: Lanham Christian Lions vs. St. Albans Bulldogs

The Lanham Christian Lions will face off against the St. Albans Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lanham Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.

Last Tuesday, Lanham Christian got the win against King's Christian Academy by a conclusive 80-58. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanham Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naz Joy, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 assists, and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Joy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jamar Payen, who went 11 of 21 on his way to 25 points and seven boards.

Lanham Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Albans, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Landon with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 77-62.

Lanham Christian pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for St. Albans, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
