Baseball Game Preview: Ridge View Raptors vs. West Monona Spartans

Ridge View and West Monona are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Raptors will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Ridge View came up short against Woodbine on Friday, falling 10-1. The game marked the Raptors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Monona came up short against Cherokee Washington on Saturday and fell 9-4. The Spartans have struggled against the Braves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

This is the second loss in a row for Ridge View and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for West Monona, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything went Ridge View's way against West Monona in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as Ridge View made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raptors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
