Basketball Game Preview: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Union Colony Prep Timberwolves

The Weldon Valley Warriors will square off against the Union Colony Prep Timberwolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Weldon Valley is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They secured a 50-44 W over Lone Star. The score was all tied up 23-23 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Union Colony Prep got the win against Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado on Wednesday by a conclusive 74-48. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-22.

Weldon Valley suffered a grim 79-53 defeat to Union Colony Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the Warriors, Josiah Rodriguez (who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
