Volleyball Recap: Lathrop Falls Short Against Ranked Monroe Catholic + How To Watch

Lathrop faced Monroe Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Malemutes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Malemutes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

The final score came out to 25-23, 18-25, 25-7, 25-13.

Avayah Crumm paced Lathrop's offense, picking up nine kills. Crumm got some help from Izzie Tsigonis and her 27 assists. Tsigonis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lathrop now has a losing record of 9-10-6. As for Monroe Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-2.

Coming up, Lathrop will venture away from home to square off against West Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe Catholic has already played their next match (against Hutchison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
