Baseball Game Preview: Beekmantown Eagles vs. Peru Nighthawks

Beekmantown is 2-8 against Peru since May of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Beekmantown got the win against AuSable Valley by a conclusive 21-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Peru, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Franklin Academy on Saturday as they made off with a 17-5 victory. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Deacon Whitmarsh, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Trombley, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Peru always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Beekmantown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Peru, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Beekmantown might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Peru in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
